The attitude of Kazakhstanis towards neural networks today combines interest, confidence and wariness. Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming one of the key factors of the modern era. States are creating specialized departments and developing strategies for regulating AI, businesses are changing approaches to work and revising personnel policies, and the global community admires new technologies and at the same time fears their consequences. One of the main fears remains the possible loss of work due to the development of neural networks. What is artificial intelligence for humans today - an assistant, a tool, a competitor or a threat? Not only technology experts, but also public opinion researchers are trying to find the answer to this question. The analysis was based on data from an international survey by Gallup International, which covered more than 60 thousand respondents in 61 countries. The operator of the study in Kazakhstan was the Center for Sociological and Marketing Research BISAM Central Asia. In addition, in December 2025, the center conducted its own study in Kazakhstan among urban residents. 1043 respondents took part in the survey, Zakon.kz reports. In an international study
Respondents were asked: “Are you concerned that artificial intelligence could cost you your job?” The responses were combined into an indicator that experts tentatively called the “AI Fear Index.” Overall, across all countries, the number of people who are concerned about artificial intelligence turned out to be fewer than those who do not see it as a serious threat. Thus, 36% of respondents admitted that they are very or somewhat afraid of possible job loss, while 46% said that they do not feel very worried about this. As a result, the overall global “AI fear index” turned out to be negative – minus 10%. Another 14% of participants were unemployed, and 4% found it difficult to answer. Without examining in detail the index values for each of the 61 countries, it should be noted that negative values, that is, less concern, are characteristic primarily of more economically and technologically developed countries. Analysts note that the highest level of anxiety is characteristic mainly of countries with lower living standards, weak technological development and periodic manifestations of political instability. India can be considered an exception to a certain extent. By pln
According to the compilers of the rating, in such countries people are generally more afraid of losing their jobs, and the development of artificial intelligence only intensifies existing fears. In the opposite group are states with the most relaxed attitude towards AI. These are mainly Northern European countries, which are distinguished by a high level of technological development, economic development and a more restrained perception of social changes. The authors of the analysis believe that it is no coincidence that Kazakhstan is among the countries with a relatively calm attitude towards artificial intelligence. Analysts call the high level of digitalization of the country one of the factors. The study emphasizes that Kazakhstan has made significant progress in the field of digital services in recent years. In particular, we are talking about banking Internet technologies and digital government services. In terms of their level of convenience and efficiency, the country, according to experts, is ahead of many European countries. In addition, the BISAM study showed that residents of Kazakhstan are already quite actively interacting with artificial intelligence in everyday life. According to the study, attitudes towards artificial intelligence in Kazakhstan remain generally positive. Almost floors
The majority of respondents—47.3%—believe that the use of AI will bring more benefit to society and the economy than harm. The opposite point of view is shared by 18.9% of respondents. At the same time, more than a third of survey participants have not yet been able to form a clear position on this issue. The study's authors believe that the further spread of AI and the emergence of new social consequences may change public sentiment. The survey also showed a high level of penetration of artificial intelligence technologies into everyday life. Various AI programs and applications are already used by 63.9% of respondents. Most often, Kazakhstanis turn to artificial intelligence to search for information - this option was chosen by 81.8% of AI users. However, the range of tasks for which this technology is used is gradually expanding. Among those who do not yet use artificial intelligence, which is almost half (48.4%), respondents said that they simply do not see the need for it. Another 15.8% admitted that they do not know what AI is or how to use it, and 7% reported a lack of access to relevant technologies. At the same time, among the respondents there were also those who fundamentally do not use AI due to distrust
to him. Thus, 27.6% of respondents said that they do not want to lose their own skills and prefer to complete tasks independently. Another 24.2% consider its use unsafe and fear a leak of personal data. In addition, 19.1% of study participants do not trust the results produced by artificial intelligence, considering them potentially unreliable. The authors of the study came to the conclusion that the attitude of Kazakhstanis towards neural networks today combines interest, confidence and wariness. Despite the high level of their penetration into everyday life and the relatively positive perception, society still has doubts and concerns about the further development of AI. According to researchers, such a reaction looks quite natural at the current stage of the rapid development and implementation of artificial intelligence.
