🧠 Google DeepMind has opened a separate institute that will study what will happen to the world after the advent of AGI DeepMind Institute will deal not only with the development of general artificial intelligence, but also with its consequences - from cyber and biorisks to scenarios in which people may lose control of self-learning systems. The leadership of the institute included Demis Hassabis, Shane Legg and James Manika. The first studies have already been published on the site, and Hassabis proposed creating an independent certification system for advanced AI models with closed tests for which developers will not be able to “train” them in advance. The head of DeepMind himself believes that full-fledged AGI is only a few years away, and its impact could be much larger than previous technological revolutions. Source
