The Chinese company UBTECH Robotics plans to manufacture robotics in Kazakhstan. The company plans to open a production facility for the production of robots for the education and service industries in Almaty. This project will be the company's first production outside of China, Tech-news reports. Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokaev met with Zhong Yun, senior president of UBTECH Robotics, and discussed the company's plans in Kazakhstan. At the meeting, attention was also paid to the issue of personnel training in the field of robotics. It was proposed to establish a permanent connection between UBTECH and technical higher educational institutions and colleges of Kazakhstan. In particular, the introduction of UBTECH technologies to the Alatau City project, as well as the possibility of using robots in mining, oil and gas and large logistics facilities, were discussed. Cooperation between Kazakhstan and UBTECH is connected with the agreement on the development of robotics and artificial intelligence. It was signed in July 2026 between Almaty administration, NERO Group and UBTECH Robotics.
