State-of-the-art robotic technologies implemented in the Almaty Oncology Center were presented to the Minister of Health Akmaral Alnazarova. A robotic surgical system for complex minimally invasive surgeries allows surgery to be performed through very small incisions instead of large incisions. According to oncologists, the high accuracy of the device minimizes the risk of damage to large blood vessels and reduces the need for blood transfusions. At the same time, the probability of complications, inflammation and infection during operations performed with the help of a robot decreases. In addition, after the operation, patients experience significantly less pain, shorter hospital stays, and can return to their normal lifestyle faster. For the surgeon, the robot allows to see the operating field in a three-dimensional, multiple-magnified format, to clearly see the smallest nerves and blood vessels. At the same time, extremely high accuracy of movements is ensured, and hand vibration is completely eliminated. After that, in the oncology center, the head of the department was introduced to the robotic pharmacy complex and the system of diluting drugs in closed, hermetic conditions. This technology automates the entire process of drug supply — from receiving and storing drugs to their preparation and delivery to the patient. Each package is assigned a unique digital identification number. Due to this, it is possible to monitor the entire movement of the drug and record all actions performed with it. "Robotic technologies are not limited to simple automation of individual processes. They allow to increase the accuracy of surgical interventions, the safety of drug supply and control at each stage of treatment. These are technologies aimed primarily at the safety and interests of the patient," said Marat Pashimov, head of the Public Health Department of Almaty. Today, more than 38,000 patients with oncological diseases are registered in the dispensary in Almaty. More than 27,000 people receive medical assistance every year. In the last eight years, the volume of medical services has increased by 2.5 times. In addition, the five-year survival rate increased from 46% to 75%. It was noted that the introduction of robotic solutions at the Almaty Oncology Center is part of the systematic work aimed at increasing the quality and safety of oncological care.
