According to The Verge, startup Rabbit has announced a new AI agent that does not require the use of their R1 device. The new AI agent, according to the company, can run locally on devices running Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems. Rabbit says its new OS3 operating system, called an “agent operating system,” runs in the cloud but still functions locally on a variety of devices. Users can connect up to five devices to one account and select their preferred AI models. OS3 automatically detects the necessary devices, files, applications, and AI models to complete a task. In addition, OS3 can be accessed through a dedicated desktop site, as well as through instant messengers such as Telegram or iMessage, and on the Rabbit R1 device. Rabbit founder Jesse Liu said the R1 devices have been discontinued, but the company is not giving up on AI hardware. Instead, they're focusing on a new mood-encoded "cyberdeck" that will run on OS3 and be launched within a few months. Rabbit states that the OS3 system will not store, copy, use or sell data
users. However, the company noted that chats and memories associated with them will be stored on their servers. Other AI providers associated with OS3 will also process user data according to their own privacy rules. The material was prepared by a neural network based on the original publication.
